This Participation Agreement (“Agreement”) applies to access to and use of the SIWES applicant portal operated by Agrolyst Integrated Farms and Services (“Agrolyst”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By creating an account or using the portal, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the portal.
1. Purpose of the portal
The portal is provided to support SIWES application and placement administration, including account access, submission of application details and documents, application updates, and related communications. Creating an account or submitting an application does not by itself guarantee acceptance, placement, employment, a stipend, or completion certification.
2. Accurate information
You agree to provide information that is accurate, current and complete to the best of your knowledge. You are responsible for correcting information that becomes inaccurate and for ensuring that documents you submit are genuine, relevant and lawfully shared. False statements or altered documents may result in application review, rejection or other appropriate action.
3. Your account
- Keep your login credentials confidential and do not knowingly allow another person to use your account.
- Use an email address you control and complete any required email verification.
- Notify the programme contact promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or account misuse.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
We may require additional verification where reasonably necessary to protect applicants and the programme.
4. Appropriate use
You must not use the portal to impersonate another person, submit fraudulent material, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorised access, upload malicious code, harvest another applicant’s information, or use the portal for unlawful, abusive or disruptive purposes. You must not attempt to bypass access controls or interfere with the security or availability of the portal.
5. Application documents and communications
You authorise Agrolyst to use the information and documents you submit for legitimate application, placement, verification, support and record-keeping purposes described in the Privacy Notice. You should submit only information relevant to the process and avoid uploading unrelated sensitive information. Keep copies of important documents and follow any additional instructions communicated by the programme.
6. Review and decisions
Applications may be reviewed for completeness, eligibility and suitability. Agrolyst may request clarification or additional documentation. Decisions and timelines may depend on available placement capacity, programme requirements and information supplied by applicants. Any acceptance or placement is subject to the specific written communication and requirements issued for that placement.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the portal available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every feature will always be error-free. Maintenance, technical issues or circumstances beyond our reasonable control may temporarily affect access. We may update, suspend or discontinue portal features where reasonably necessary.
8. Privacy
Use of personal information is described in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of the information governing your use of the portal. Please review it to understand what information may be collected, how it is used and how to make a privacy-related request.
9. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the portal’s branding, layout, text and other materials are owned by or used with permission by their respective rights holders. You may use the portal for its intended application purpose only. You must not copy, republish or commercially exploit portal materials in a way that infringes applicable rights.
10. Suspension or termination
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe that an account presents a security risk, these terms have been breached, information is materially misleading, or restriction is required by law or programme administration. Where appropriate, we will provide a reason or instructions for resolving the issue. You may stop using the portal at any time.
11. Responsibility and limitations
You are responsible for ensuring that your submissions are correct and for keeping your own copies of documents. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the portal is provided on an “as available” basis, and we do not guarantee a particular application outcome. Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Updates to this Agreement
We may revise this Agreement when programme processes, portal features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top indicates the current version. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms where permitted by applicable law; if you do not agree, stop using the portal.
13. Applicable law and contact
This Agreement is intended to operate subject to the applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any mandatory rights or procedures under applicable law remain unaffected.
